My name is Laura and until 2021 I worked as an Ecological Consultant. I have always loved working outdoors but one thing was missing - animals! Like many others, the COVID-19 pandemic made me realise what was really important and I made the decision to become a full time dog walker.

I have a background in animal biology, wildlife and conservation and grew up with dogs before adopting my current dog in 2018. Theo had some behavioural problems which hadn't been picked up on while he was in the shelter, and owning him came with a steep learning curve. I soon found myself immersed in canine behaviour and realised how much I love it. In my spare time I am undertaking an Advanced Diploma in Applied Animal Behaviour with a view to eventually working as a behaviourist.
Based in Penicuik, I provide loyal and loving pet care and services throughout Midlothian. I pride myself on my patience, kindness and competence - and my clients would agree.

Remember, no job is too big or too small , so please get in touch. I can’t wait to start looking after your precious pet.

animal welfare
All animals in my care are walked using positive reinforcement - this means I do not punish or 'correct' dogs.

I do not walk dogs using prong or ecollars.

I am sensitive to your pets needs - at our meet & greet I ask detailed questions about your their likes and dislikes as well as any fears or personality quirks. If your pet is undergoing training I will support this while they are with me.
Transport
Dogs are transported in a peugot partner which has been fitted with custom-made steel crates. Each dog has their own roomy crate, meaning there are no opportunities for disagreements in the back of the van! Crates have escape doors for use in case of an emergency, and are individually lockable.

Crates are lined with fleece and vetbed to keep your pooches cosy, clean and comfortable, while a Flettner vent and mesh bulkhead ensures good airflow throughout the van.
